What Are You Ridiculously Good At?

What am I ridiculously good at?

Guest writer: Rachel Hahn

My coaching friend recently shared with me a quiz about "Passion Actions".

One of the questions was;

What are you ridiculously good at?

I couldn’t answer it.

I am not sure if this has something to do with being a woman. Although I know plenty of amazing women who are proud of their talents and confident enough to both identify them and accept them graciously. My personality. My upbringing. Or a combination of all things.

After sitting down and giving myself the space and time, and permission (we’ll chat about this another time – I am on a crusade) to think this conundrum through, I was still stumped.

Even the second part of the question wasn’t helpful: What are your precious gifts?

  • Well my kids. Duh!

  • The health of my family and friends.

  • My friendships. The roof over my head.

  • The fact that I’m a woman born in a Western, affluent country.

I can rattle dozens off without even tracking them in a gratitude journal.

Now before you jump on me, I know they don’t mean those sorts of gifts, but that’s how I quantify my life.

So maybe this is one of my precious gifts. Relationships? Even the ability to be grateful.

So when I couldn’t get the answer I needed, I did what I have been doing a lot of lately, I asked my own questions and built my own guide to finding the answers.

I will share the guide at the end of this post, which we’ve aptly named, Getting to the bottom of what you’re really, really, ridiculously good at, thank you Derek Zoolander (Zoolander, movie 2001) for your added inspiration.

And guess what …

Tony Robbins is right when he says, “Successful people ask better questions, and as a result, they get better answers.”

Although I am going to paraphrase it and make it YPM’s quote …

People who ask better questions about themselves, get better answers.

Are you curious about what you’re really, really, ridiculously good at?
